About The Cattail Trail

  • The Cattail trail is open year round.
  • The Cattail Trail is a MULTI-USE trail open to snowmobiles, atv's, walkers, horses, bicycles, motorcycles (Polk County section).
  • 18 miles of trail, 12 in Polk County also with connectors to many townships.
  • Trail head at Amery.  Restroom and picnic areas are available at the trail head. Now has ATV ramp to unload your machine.
  • Keep your eyes open for the various wildlife and habitats that surround you as you travel the trail.
  • It is a transformed railroad grade with 6 bridges converted into a trail for all to enjoy.
  • There is a newer 40 acre "play area" about 3 miles east of Almena that include jumps, courses, and a forest trail. Parking,  
    restroom, and picnic facilities are available.
